A Kiwi Snack

One of O's daily snacks is kiwi.  She loves it, and I love that it is so healthy and easy to prepare.  I usually peel and slice her kiwi, but occasionally she wants to fix it herself.

First, she washes the kiwi.  Then she slices it in half.

Finally, she eats it with a spoon.

It doesn't get much easier than that!

  1. That's exactly how we eat kiwi at our house-it's even easier to eat if you have a spoon with zig-zag edges:))

  2. I think I am the only 'kiwi' in the world that doesn't like kiwi fruit. Shame because they sure are good for you!

    P.S. I don't eat real kiwis either

  3. It can be easier than that. The fuzzy skin is edible. My kids eat them whole. :)

  4. I love reading your website with such practice ideas for learning at home. I have a 16 month old little girl and am due with another little girl on Valentine's Day.

I just found this great, easy recipe for granola bars you should try:
    2 c. rolled oats
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. wheat germ
    3/4 t cinnamon
    1 c. whole wheat flour
    3/4 c raisins
    3/4 t salt
    1/2 c honey
    1 egg, beaten
1/2 c applesauce, coconut oil, peanut oil, or olive oil
    2 t vanilla

    Bake at 350 in a greased 9 by 13.

Mix the dry ingredients then make a well and place in the wet ingredients.
Mix then pat into the baking dish.

Bake for 30-35 minutes. The edges will begin to turn golden. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan. Cut and remove from pan.
